New Brunswick to Unveil New Minerals Strategy at PDAC, Focus on Quick Permitting
STRATEGIC MINERALS
New Brunswick plans to release a new minerals strategy on March 2 at the PDAC convention in Toronto, aiming for faster permitting under a one project, one process framework. The province is advancing several mining projects, including Northcliff Resources' Sisson tungsten project and preparing to restart the Lake George antimony mine.
Minister John Herron emphasized environmental responsibility and First Nations engagement in the strategy. The government hired PricewaterhouseCoopers to develop the strategy and will revise the Mining Act this spring.
