New Plant Species Nymphanthus vietnamensis Discovered in Phong Dien Nature Reserve, Vietnam

Phong Dien Nature Reserve in Vietnam has announced the discovery of a new plant species, Nymphanthus vietnamensis. The identification occurred during biodiversity monitoring in 2025, and the findings were published in Phytotaxa. The reserve, established by Hue City in August 2025, spans over 40,760 hectares and aims to protect lowland forest ecosystems while preserving biodiversity, including rare species such as the saola and yellow-cheeked gibbon.
