Nigeria is grappling with an electricity crisis as 20 more companies have exited the national grid, bringing the total to nearly 60% of industrial consumers generating their own power. Electricity supply to distribution companies fell from 4,330MW to 3,810MW, despite government efforts, including a N1.09 trillion budget allocation for electricity projects and a N4 trillion bond to address sector debts. Current generation remains significantly below the 20GW demand, exacerbated by challenges in revenue collection and access for 85 million citizens.
