NIT Jamshedpur Researchers Develop Carbon Capture Technology for Zero Emission Power Plants
CARBON CAPTURE
Researchers at NIT Jamshedpur have developed a Pre-Combustion Carbon Capture and Storage technology aimed at achieving zero carbon emissions from power plants, allowing chimneys to emit only steam. This innovation, presented by Md.
Wasim Akram, is expected to enhance efficiency in the power industry and contribute to India's Green Circular Economy, aligning with the national vision of 'Viksit Bharat-2047'. The research also explores the potential for converting captured CO₂ into industrial products, promoting environmental benefits and energy security.
