Students from New Mexico State University and the Albuquerque Civil Air Patrol Group NM-079 conducted rocket launches at Spaceport America on February 14, 2026. The NMSU students aimed for Level 1 certifications from the National Association of Rocketry, successfully launching 10 out of 11 rockets, reaching heights of 1,700 feet. The Civil Air Patrol team completed three launches as part of the American Rocketry Challenge, the world's largest student rocket competition, with Spaceport America supporting the initiative to inspire future industry workforce.
