Global South Utilities has launched the Noor Chad solar project, Chad's first utility-scale solar power plant with battery storage. Located near N'Djamena, the 50 MWp solar plant, combined with a 5 MWh battery system, aims to provide stable power and reduce reliance on imported diesel.

The project will supply renewable electricity to approximately 274,000 homes and is expected to cut carbon emissions by over 1.36 million tonnes. The initiative supports Chad's 'Chad Connection 2030' plan for improved electricity access.
