NordSpace is poised to launch Canada's first commercial rocket, the Taiga, from a Canadian spaceport in Newfoundland, following a previous delay due to technical issues. Founded in 2022 by PhD candidate Rahul Goel, the company plans to launch its satellite, Terra-Nova, in June and aims to establish a sustainable commercial space business while addressing Earth-based challenges. With significant self-financing and support from the Canadian Space Agency, NordSpace is focused on developing its own launch vehicles and spaceport to enhance Canada's sovereign space capabilities.
