The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has introduced the ULIS Ultra-Low Inductance Smart power module, designed with silicon carbide semiconductors for enhanced energy efficiency. This innovative 1,200-volt, 400-amp module features a compact design that significantly reduces parasitic inductance and employs a bonded copper structure for lighter weight and cost-effective manufacturing. Additionally, it includes a pending patent for a low-latency wireless control protocol, enabling operation and monitoring without physical cables.
