NSW Government Allocates A$11.2m for Hard-to-Recycle Plastics Recycling Infrastructure

CIRCULAR ECONOMY & RECYCLING

The Australian and NSW governments have allocated A$11.2m to enhance hard-to-recycle plastics recycling in New South Wales. This funding supports two projects: iQRenew in Kundle Kundle, receiving A$9.1m for upgrading to process 10,000 tonnes of soft plastics annually, and a new facility in Tamworth, receiving A$1.9m to process 7,000 tonnes of hard-to-recycle plastics. The initiatives aim to divert waste from landfills, create jobs, and strengthen the plastics circular economy.
