NTR plc, led by CEO Rosheen McGuckian, has acquired a 105-MWp solar project in County Galway, Ireland, from UK-based RES. The project has secured grid and planning approvals and is set to begin construction in 2027 following design optimizations.

NTR, established in 1978, has focused on renewable energy since the late 1990s, investing in wind, solar, bioenergy, and energy storage. The acquisition is part of NTR's strategy to expand its utility-scale solar and battery storage portfolio across Ireland and Europe, supported by its partnership with Legal & General's asset management division.
