NVVN Approves Tariffs for Battery Energy Storage Projects in Rajasthan Following E-Reverse Auction
NVVN conducted a tariff-based competitive bidding process, including an e-reverse auction on June 21, 2025, selecting five bidders with monthly tariffs per MW of Rs 216,000 for Solar91 Cleantech Limited, Rs 218,700 for Rays Power Experts, Rs 218,998 for Stockwell Solar Services, Rs 218,999 for Oriana Power, and Rs 219,000 for Inox Renewable Solutions. Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited requested a reduction in the trading margin from 7 paise to 2 paise per unit, but NVVN maintained the margin at 7 paise per unit.
The approved procurement aligns with Rajasthan's Energy Storage Obligation of a 2.0% storage requirement for 2025-26. The state government emphasized project implementation's strategic importance. The selected sites in the Jaisalmer-Barmer-Jodhpur belt aim to reduce transmission congestion. The Commission directed RUVITL to provide quarterly project progress reports and encouraged the adoption of advanced battery storage technologies.
