The Ohio EPA has terminated Madison Village's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit for its wastewater treatment plant. Village Administrator Jason Chapman confirmed the termination, which followed the decommissioning of the facility in 2025.

The village had to complete all monthly reports on sludge removal before the permit could be canceled. Plans for the site include potential removal of scrap and consideration of selling parts through an online auction.
