NUCLEAR
Oklo Inc. has unveiled plans to construct the first privately funded nuclear fuel recycling facility in the U.S. in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with an investment of up to $1.68 billion. This facility aims to convert used nuclear fuel into a resource for advanced reactors, potentially unlocking energy equivalent to 1.3 trillion barrels of oil.
The initiative is part of Oklo's broader strategy to enhance energy independence while addressing long-standing waste management challenges. The project is expected to begin operations in the early 2030s, pending regulatory approvals.
