Oregon Attorney General Joins Lawsuit Against Trump Administration Over EV Charger Funding Freeze

HYDROGEN

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield is part of a lawsuit against the Trump administration for freezing funds designated for electric vehicle (EV) charger construction along major routes. This funding was approved by Congress to modernize transportation corridors and support electric vehicle demand, particularly for medium and heavy-duty trucks.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's halt on fund access has postponed several projects, including a $102 million collaboration among Oregon, California, and Washington to build hydrogen charging stations along Interstate 5.

Rayfield emphasizes that delays impact jobs, supply chains, and business costs in Oregon. The lawsuit, which includes 16 other states, seeks to compel the administration to release the funds.
