Panasonic's De Soto Battery Plant Approaches 50% Capacity with New Wing Under Construction

Panasonic's battery plant in De Soto, Kansas, is nearing 50% production capacity with the addition of two new production lines and the construction of a second wing set to house four more lines by 2027. Currently employing around 1,400 workers, the facility aims to expand its workforce to 4,000 to meet growing customer demand beyond Tesla. A hiring event for entry-level skilled machine technicians is scheduled for Thursday at Astra Enterprise Park.
