Planet Labs, a San Francisco-based Earth observation company with a market capitalization of $2.76 billion, has released its first images from the recently launched Pelican 3 satellite, capturing Turin, Italy. The satellite was launched alongside Pelican 4 on August 26, 2025, via a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission.

As the satellites complete instrument calibration and reach their final operational orbits, image quality is expected to improve. Planet Labs maintains a gross profit margin of nearly 59% and reported an annual revenue increase of 11.3%.
