Plus Power has begun operations at the Cross Town Energy Storage facility in Gorham, Maine, marking the state's first utility-scale battery energy storage project and the largest on the ISO New England grid. The 175 MW / 350 MWh facility will store excess electricity during low demand for use during peak periods, improving grid reliability and supporting Maine's energy goals of 400 MW of battery storage by 2030 and 90% renewable electricity sales by 2030.
