PNOC and Ofi Invest Group Sign MOU to Promote Biomethane in the Philippines
The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and Ofi Invest Group of France have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote biomethane and circular economy technologies in the Philippines. This partnership aims to support the country's energy transition agenda through technical studies and feedstock assessments, focusing initially on chicken manure and hydrogen as energy sources.
The collaboration includes Ofi's subsidiary Syncicap Asset Management and local partner Grow Capital Partners. Ofi plans to establish a local holding company, mobilizing up to $850 million for renewable projects. The initiative is expected to enhance investments in renewable energy, which reached P479.78 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, accounting for 58.74 percent of total investment approvals.
