Poland Expands Carbon Capture and Storage Opportunities to 18 Areas
CARBON CAPTURE
Poland is advancing its carbon capture and storage (CCS) sector with a new draft regulation that allows CCS complexes in 18 areas, including land and the Baltic Sea. This marks a significant increase from the previous regulation, which permitted only one area.
The initiative aims to help industrial companies manage CO2 emissions while complying with EU laws, especially in light of the EU's increased emission targets for 2030. No licenses for underground CO2 storage have been issued to date.
