Poland's Hynfra and Mauritania Green Ammonia have finalized a $1.5 billion deal to establish a green ammonia plant in Mauritania, expected to produce 100,000 tonnes annually starting in 2030. The project, located near Nouakchott, will leverage the region's renewable resources, including solar and wind energy. Additional framework agreements with Chinese developer UEG aim to further enhance green hydrogen production in the country, marking a significant step in positioning Mauritania as a green hydrogen hub for Europe.
