Port Townsend Secures $4.5M in Tentative Funding from Washington State Ecology Department
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
Port Townsend is on track to receive $4.5 million from the Washington State Department of Ecology for two projects. The funding includes $3 million for a sewer separation and street restoration project on Lawrence Street, and $1.5 million for repairs to the outfall pipe at the wastewater treatment facility.
City Manager John Mauro expects funding to be finalized by March 12, 2026. The Lawrence Street project aims to improve stormwater management and public health, while the outfall project will address leaks and environmental concerns.
