PowerWood Canada Acquires Land for Rail Spur to Enhance Biofuel Exports

PowerWood Canada Corp has acquired 175 acres in Mackenzie County, Alberta, for a rail spur aimed at enhancing the export of advanced black biofuel pellets. The CAD$1.1 million project will connect to the Canadian National Railway's Hay River Line and support two planned production facilities, which are expected to produce 350,000 tons of pellets annually and create over 500 jobs, while utilizing wildfire-damaged timber and incorporating reforestation efforts. Construction of the first plant, Peace River, is set to begin in spring 2026.
