Prony Resources Launches Drying Unit for Mining Residues at Sud Factory
STRATEGIC MINERALS
Prony Resources has initiated a drying unit for mining residues at its Sud factory, converting liquid waste into solid storage over 80 hectares, ensuring operational continuity for at least 10 years. The project, called Lucy, requires an investment of 60 billion CFP and aims to enhance environmental performance, achieving a volume reduction of approximately 15% compared to wet residue storage. The factory anticipates producing 36,000 tonnes of nickel in 2025, with plans for 55,000 tonnes in future years.
