Punjab Approves Six Biogas Plants and Waste-to-Energy Project for Clean Energy Initiative

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of six biogas plants in Lahore and Faisalabad as part of a clean energy initiative, aimed at providing affordable gas and bio-fertilizer. The initiative also includes a waste-to-energy project in Lahore to generate low-cost electricity for public transportation, alongside a feasibility study for a multiple-fuel biorefinery. Additionally, the Model Village program will incorporate pilot biogas projects to enhance rural infrastructure and address local water and sanitation issues.
