Puro Registry Certifies 100th Carbon Removal Facility, Carbonsate in Berlin

CARBON CAPTURE

The Puro Registry has certified its 100th carbon removal facility, a milestone for the CO2 removal industry. Berlin-based Carbonsate is recognized as this facility. The Puro Registry tracks CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs), each representing one metric ton of long-term CO2 removal.

These certificates are retired when a beneficiary makes a net-zero claim. The certification highlights a global effort to scale durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR) commercially. It reflects the commitment of suppliers, project developers, and verification bodies contributing to this issuance. The registry aims to enhance methodologies and verification processes to support a diverse portfolio of durable CDR pathways.
