Qualitas Energy Launches First Biomethane Facility in the UK, Paving the Way for Renewable Gas Expansion
BIOFUELS
Qualitas Energy has inaugurated its first renewable biomethane facility, Three Maids, in Winchester, UK. This anaerobic digestion plant will process 83,600 tonnes of agricultural waste annually, generating over 120 GWh of biomethane to heat more than 9,000 homes.
The facility has created 15 direct jobs and is projected to support a total of 50 jobs throughout the supply chain. As part of a broader initiative, Qualitas aims to develop a network of biogas plants across the UK, significantly contributing to the national grid and supporting local economies while reducing carbon emissions.
