QuTech Develops QARPET Chip Architecture for Scalable Spin Qubit Testing

Researchers at QuTech in Delft have unveiled QARPET, a new chip architecture enabling efficient testing of semiconductor spin qubits. With a tiled design that allows hundreds of qubits to be evaluated simultaneously under real operational conditions, QARPET addresses key challenges in scaling quantum processors.
The prototype, using a Ge/SiGe semiconductor structure, contains a grid of tiles hosting up to 1,058 qubits with minimal control lines. This development aims to enhance the reliability and reproducibility of future quantum devices.
