Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission Approves 1,000 MW Battery Storage Project

The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved tariffs for a 1,000 MW Battery Energy Storage System aimed at enhancing grid stability as renewable energy usage increases. Developed by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd., the project will operate under a Build-Own-Operate model with long-term agreements, supported by ₹18 lakh per MWh in Viability Gap Funding from the Ministry of Power. The tender attracted 50 bidders, with 11 selected, securing monthly tariffs between ₹1,77,500 and ₹1,78,500 per MW.
