Rajasthan's Power Generation Capacity Reaches 54.77 GW Driven by Renewable Energy Expansion
As of October 31, 2025, Rajasthan's total installed power generation capacity has surged to 54.77 GW, a 32.75 GW increase from 22.02 GW on March 31, 2020. The growth trajectory includes increases to 22.64 GW by March 2021, 30.13 GW by March 2022, 35.74 GW by March 2023, 40.09 GW by March 2024, and 47.12 GW by March 2025.
The expansion is supported by the Intra-State Green Energy Corridor (GEC) scheme, with GEC Phase-I commissioning 1,054 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 1,915 MVA substations to evacuate 2,400 MW of renewable energy. GEC Phase-II will add 659 circuit kilometers and 2,191 MVA for an additional 2,478 MW. Energy storage initiatives are underway, including a 1,000 MW battery project and a target of 10 GW of energy storage by 2030 under the Rajasthan Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2024.
