Red Chris Mine Expansion in Northwest BC Selected for Fast-Tracking by Major Projects Office
NUCLEAR
The Red Chris mine expansion in northwest British Columbia has been chosen as one of five projects to be expedited by Ottawa's newly established Major Projects Office (MPO). This initiative aims to streamline regulatory processes and facilitate funding for large-scale infrastructure projects.
The expansion, with a projected cost of C$2.6 billion, is expected to increase ore processing capacity significantly, create up to 1,800 construction jobs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is part of a broader strategy to enhance Canada's critical minerals development and infrastructure.
