Reliance Industries Merges 16 Subsidiaries into New Energy Unit; ONGC, Adani, and Tata Expand Ventures

Reliance Industries has merged 16 step-down subsidiaries into a new entity, Reliance New Energy, to focus on new energy technologies such as hydrogen and energy storage, effective January 21, 2026. Meanwhile, ONGC has invested ₹40 crore in joint ventures for ethane transportation, Adani Enterprises has acquired full ownership of IANS India, and Tata Communications has purchased a 51% stake in Commotion Inc. to bolster AI capabilities.
