Rheinmetall Advances Alkaline Electrolysis with New Electrode Technology for Green Hydrogen Production
HYDROGEN
Rheinmetall has unveiled a new electrode technology for alkaline electrolysis aimed at enhancing green hydrogen production efficiency and reducing costs. Set to begin pilot production next year, the project, part of the E2ngel consortium and backed by Germany's National Hydrogen Strategy, seeks to improve power density and efficiency using noble metal-free catalysts.
Series production will take place at the St. Leon-Rot site, featuring a production line for electrodes suitable for multi-megawatt systems.
