Romania has launched a RON 52.5 million agrisolar project aimed at enhancing the resilience of its food supply chain. Funded by a RON 47.7 million grant from the European Regional Development Fund, the initiative will develop an agrisolar system with batteries for irrigation and include a software application to optimize energy consumption on farms. The project, running until November 2, 2028, will test photovoltaic panels and energy storage on various crops while monitoring key agricultural indicators.
