The Rong Bon community in Chiang Rai has restored over 400 rai of degraded land, significantly reducing haze pollution and generating sustainable income through carbon credits. The initiative, started in 2001, has transformed the area into a model for wildfire prevention, resulting in nearly zero hotspots and improved water availability for local agriculture. The community is part of the 'Carbon Credit from Community Forests for Sustainability' project, successfully cutting emissions by 2,624 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
