RWE Offshore Wind's CEO has called on the German government to cancel the 2026 offshore wind auction and instead focus on establishing Contracts for Difference (CfDs). At the TenneT 'ReThink Offshore' event, he highlighted the need to address key challenges related to market design, spatial planning, and alignment of expansion targets before proceeding with the auction, which aims to offer 2.5 GW of capacity.
