RWE to Develop Pembroke Battery Storage Project in Wales for Net Zero Centre

ENERGY STORAGE

RWE is set to construct the Pembroke Battery Storage project in South Wales, covering 5.1 hectares. The facility will include 212 lithium-ion battery containers, capable of discharging 350 MW of electricity for two hours, equivalent to 700 MWh.

This project supports the Pembroke Net Zero Centre and is expected to create jobs. Construction is planned to begin in early 2026, with operations anticipated by late 2028, pending grid connection updates.
