RWTH Aachen University is developing a digital platform called 'HyConnect' to improve the efficiency of hydrogen refueling stations in Germany, as part of a two-and-a-half-year project funded by North Rhine-Westphalia. The initiative aims to allow users to reserve refueling capacities, streamline payments, and enhance transparency, addressing the challenges posed by the current limited and unreliable hydrogen infrastructure. By combining data on hydrogen demand and availability, 'HyConnect' seeks to facilitate planning and reduce supply bottlenecks, ultimately promoting the use of hydrogen-powered trucks.
