WIND ENERGYHYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE
The Scottish government has allocated £3 million to support workers at ExxonMobil's Mossmorran plant in Fife, which is closing and jeopardizing over 400 jobs, as part of a broader £9 million support package. Meanwhile, funding for offshore wind projects will drop significantly to £93 million in 2026-27, and additional investments include £15.6 million for hydrogen production and carbon capture at Grangemouth and £3 million for reskilling former oil and gas workers. Community climate action funding will also rise to £6 million to bolster local initiatives.
