Shanghai Electric and Others Advance Energy Storage and Battery Material Projects in China
Shanghai Electric Group signed an agreement with the People's Government of Tancheng County on December 16 for a 5GWh all-vanadium redox flow battery energy storage project. The Tancheng Phase I 190MW wind power project is expected to become operational by year-end, providing 200 million kWh of clean electricity annually.
Additionally, a 1GWh vanadium redox flow battery project is under construction, projected to yield RMB 1.2 billion in annual output value. Hunan Zhongke Electric plans to invest approximately RMB 7 billion to build a 300,000-ton lithium-ion battery anode material production base in Luzhou, developed in two phases.
Washi Power's RMB 500 million sodium-ion battery project aims to establish a production and R&D base in Jiangning. Sichuan Jinyuansheng's environmental impact assessments for 100,000-ton specialty iron phosphate projects have been accepted, while Deyang Sichuan Development Lomon's lithium dihydrogen phosphate project has entered the EIA public disclosure stage.
