WIND ENERGY

Siemens Wind Power has been awarded a contract to supply 17 direct drive wind turbines for the Uljin onshore wind power plant in Gyeongsangbuk province, South Korea. The order from SK D&D Co., Ltd. includes 16 SWT-3.6-130 turbines with hub heights of 85-115 meters and one SWT-3.0-108 turbine on a 71 meter tower.

Siemens will also provide full service and maintenance for 10 years. The Uljin project is Siemens' second collaboration with SK D&D and follows the successful completion of the 30 MW Gasiri Wind Farm in Jeju-do in 2014. Installation is set to begin in spring 2018, with commissioning expected later that year, aiming to supply green energy to about 35,000 households.
