Skyroot Aerospace has delivered the Kalam-250 engine to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre for integration into the Vikram-1 launch vehicle, which aims to place up to 480 kg into low Earth orbit. As India's first privately developed orbital-class rocket, its successful launch in Q1 2026 could pave the way for increased private space missions by 2027. The Kalam-250 engine, producing 250 kN of thrust, is currently undergoing pre-flight checks as part of the final assembly phase.
