South Korea and the UK are enhancing bilateral cooperation in clean energy following upgraded FTA negotiations concluded in December 2025. While Korea's renewable energy share is 9%, below the global average of 34.3%, both countries are actively engaging in technology and project collaborations.
Key partnerships include LS Electric's energy storage project in the UK, Doosan Fuel Cell's production of fuel cells using UK technology, and LG Electronics' collaboration with Octopus Energy for heat pump solutions. The UK aims for 43-50 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030, providing opportunities for Korea's supply chain.
