HYDROGEN

Southeast Asia is projected to emerge as a significant biofuel exporter, particularly to markets like Europe, as production capacity surpasses regional demand. Ahmad Adly, a Petronas executive, announced that sustainable aviation fuel production in Asia could reach 4 million metric tons annually by 2030.

With abundant feedstock and rising demand, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to see biofuel consumption for transportation rise to approximately 250 million liters per year by 2030. Petronas is also developing a biorefinery in Johor, set to produce 650,000 tons of biofuel annually by late 2028.
