SpaceX Successfully Launches Initial Batch of Tactical Data Communication Satellites for SDA's New Constellation
SPACE ECONOMY
On September 10, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 21 tactical data communications satellites for the Space Development Agency (SDA) from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. This marks the first mission of a planned series aimed at establishing a proliferated satellite constellation in low Earth orbit.
The inaugural satellites will enhance military communication capabilities, with full operational capacity expected by 2027. The SDA plans to conduct subsequent launches monthly, moving towards a comprehensive global coverage for tactical data relay and missile tracking.
