Spain Allocates €7 Billion for Electric Grid Access Investments

The Spanish government has awarded access contracts to eight energy nodes, aimed at alleviating congestion in the electric grid. The Ministry for Ecological Transition has allocated contracts to various companies across six autonomous communities, unlocking industrial projects valued at €7 billion.
The first call for access was made in July 2025, with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, investment volume, and consumption start dates. The awarded projects include those by Atlantic Copper, ACS, and Stellantis, among others.
