Spearmint Energy Secures $400 MWh Investment from Kyuden International for ERCOT Battery Projects

Spearmint Energy has secured a $400 million equity investment from Kyuden International Corporation for two battery energy storage systems in ERCOT, totaling 400 MWh. The projects, Tierra Seca and Seven Flags, are set to begin operations in late December 2025 and are being constructed by M.A.
Mortenson Company using Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd.'s technology. This investment marks Kyuden's first venture into U.S.-based battery storage, following Spearmint's earlier $250 million financing in Q2 2025.
