Statkraft has launched Ireland's first four-hour grid-scale Battery Electric Storage System at its Cushaling windfarm in Co Offaly. The 22.8-megawatt system can supply power to 10,000 homes for four hours, enhancing the stability of the electricity grid and reducing energy costs.
The project aligns with Ireland's renewable energy goals and includes plans for a solar farm. Statkraft has invested over €1 billion in the Irish renewable market since 2018.
