Stena Line's acquisition of Wasaline was officially completed in a ceremony in Umeå. The transaction, announced on November 4, 2025, allows Stena Line to operate the ferry service between Umeå and Vaasa.

The operation will retain the Wasaline brand with minor adjustments, and the vessel Aurora Botnia will continue to operate on the route. This acquisition strengthens transport links between Sweden and Finland, with the Aurora Botnia ferry offering 20-26 weekly departures powered by biogas and batteries.
