Sumul Dairy, NDDB, and Suzuki Sign MoU for 75 MTPD Biogas Plant in Surat
Sumul Dairy, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Suzuki R&D Center India Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a 75 MTPD cow dung-based Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Surat.
The facility will produce clean CBG and nutrient-rich organic fertilizers, aiming to improve soil health, decrease reliance on chemical fertilizers, and promote climate-resilient farming. This initiative is expected to benefit over 200,000 cattle breeders in Surat and Tapi districts associated with Sumul Dairy, aligning with government policies supporting sustainable biogas production. Sumul Dairy has previously installed small biogas plants for 6,543 cattle breeder families to promote sustainable energy and organic farming.
