The Sunlight Group has finalized the ReLiFe project, aimed at boosting lithium battery recycling capabilities. The initiative established a pilot recycling unit in Xanthi, Greece, with a capacity of 500 tonnes per year.

This unit can process various lithium-ion battery chemistries. The project results will inform a techno-economic study for a full-scale recycling plant. Co-funded by EIT RawMaterials and supported by the EU, ReLiFe underscores the importance of sustainable recovery of critical raw materials.
